Book Review

I sent copies of this book, the 2nd edition, to each my daughter and my grandson with this caveat:

October 2011
re: Genesis, Creation and Early Man, 2nd edition
Dear Gabriella, Matthias,

This book has an author and an editor.
The author is Fr. Seraphim Rose who died in 1982.
The editor is Abbot Damascene Christensen who is among the living.

The editor gathered all of Fr. Seraphim's creation teachings together and made them into a book.  We are very grateful to the editor for making this book available to us.

Everything Fr. Seraphim writes is good and can be trusted.
Most of what Abbot Damascene writes is good, but can't be trusted to be free from world Orthodox influence.

I want you to read this book.  Here are the rules:

1.  Ignore any mention of God's "uncreated energies" or "uncreated logi" by the editor or, for that matter, by any Church Father less than 200 years old.

2.  The editor misuses the word "cosmos."  Substitute either "creation," or "world"  –which ever works better.

3.  Ignore any pro-MP propaganda [found in the preface].  Communism fell.  OK.  But the government in Russia still controls and uses the Church.  KGB just changed its name (again).  Before it was KGB, it was NKVD.  Now it is FBS. Now it is worse than ever.   Every single bishop is an agent of the government, and most of the priests.  The priests who are agents are compromised..

4.  Be sure to also read the Editor's Epilogue of the 1st edition of this book, which shows the important connection between the beginning of the world and the end of the world.
